Procurement Engineer

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Engineer will play a vital part in driving cost savings and optimizing our supplier network.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct pre-qualification process to optimize or narrow down the vendors to be invited for RFP and/or RFQ. 

• Float a competitive tender/bidding through RFP or RFQ for goods/services that have standard technical specifications.

• Propose supplier selection/market scan and evaluation criteria in coordination with the end user

• Conduct technical and commercial evaluation, in coordination with the user/technical team based on criteria set by user department.

• Award bid and coordinate with Vendor Management team for contract creation.


• Ensures timely delivery of all products, goods and services and administer vendor performance evaluation and facilitate corrective action, improvement plan as required. 


• Analyze spend report to identify cost reduction opportunities, waste elimination and process improvement while maintaining quality standards. 

• Perform other duties that may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preferably a Degree holder in Engineering or any related courses (Supply Chain Management, Business Administration)

• At least 4 years of related experience gained from Construction industry

• Strong understanding of sourcing principles, negotiation techniques, and contract management.

• Effective communication, interpersonal skills, and negotiation skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of ERP system or any bidding platform
