The Senior Finance Analyst is to provide reporting, planning and audit support to the Finance Business Partnering team within the Australia region.  The Senior Finance Analyst will build trusted relationships with the Finance Business  Partnering team and support the process of simplifying and improving efficiency in our monthly reporting.

Key accountabilities (but not limited to):

Business partnering

• A key point of contact for financial matters for the respective business group.
• Work closely with, and under supervision of the Finance Business Partner in the areas of project financials, working capital management and optimisation of financial outcomes.
• Obtain a good understanding of the company's financial systems and data sources to assist with decision making.

Business performance reporting

• Build and deliver consistent, accurate and timely financial and operational reports for the business groups, using the best possible medium (Excel, Power BI, etc)
• Contributing to the P&L integrity for components of the business, including a variance analysis.
• Monitor and investigate P&L items to achieve high integrity.
• Prepare accruals and accounting journals to ensure costs and revenue figures are appropriately recorded.
• Provide various reports and information for the Finance Business Partner and management to assist in managing financial performance.
• Monitor project exceptions reports to anticipate financial risk (e.g. margin erosion trend, missing sell rates, and projects approaching contracted value) and escalate issues to the appropriate teams
• Support the development and delivery of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting (e.g. carbon reporting)
• Support the monitoring and control of operational expenditure
• Adopt a continuous improvement approach

Forecasting and Planning Support

• Support Finance Business Partners with data modelling for forecasting purposes as needed
• Quality check planning and forecasting information according to corporate and business group deadlines
• Consolidate planning inputs for review and enter into ERP
• Assist in preparation of the annual budget and collating detailed bottom up inputs.
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly forecasts including review and entry into the company's planning solution.
• Ad hoc analysis for the business group to support the business unit management and regional management needs

Compliance and control

• Collection, review and quality checking  of project information to support the NI Canadian listing requirements) compliance checks , internal and external audits
• Ensure the project accounting and administrative setup is in accordance with revenue recognition policy.

Key role experiences, skills and qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills and a drive to provide value adding support will be essential to succeed in the role.
• Experience of managing large and complex data sets
• Experience of report design and delivery
• Strong excel and business intelligence capability, coupled with good systems knowledge (e.g. large ERPs such as Oracle, SAP etc)
• Experience of project based environments.
• Good communication skills with an ability to consolidate complex data into a structured financial picture.
• Continuous improvement mindset
