The Senior Tax Analyst is responsible for leading and managing tax audit engagements and overseeing the review of tax compliance across all business units. This role ensures accurate and timely responses to BIR audits and reviews, assesses risk exposures, and supports strategic tax planning and reporting. The position also supervises junior analysts and coordinates with internal departments and external consultants to manage audit-related matters effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage tax audit cases including LOA, PAN, FAN, FDDA, and other BIR-related assessments.
  • Review company-wide tax filings (VAT, EWT, ITR, etc.) for accuracy and compliance with the latest tax regulations.
  • Evaluate and reconcile BIR findings against company records and recommend courses of action.
  • Coordinate and prepare audit documentation and official replies to BIR notices.
  • Monitor open tax audit cases and ensure timely resolution and proper documentation.
  • Assist in developing tax audit defense strategies and maintaining audit trail records.
  • Liaise with internal departments for supporting documentation and clarifications.
  • Guide and review the work of Tax Analysts, ensuring adherence to internal standards and deadlines.
  • Help implement tax updates and necessary changes in internal tax practices.
  • Support tax planning initiatives by identifying risk areas and tax-saving opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 4–5 years relevant experience in tax compliance and audit handling.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws and BIR procedures.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience handling BIR LOAs and writing replies to assessments is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, SAP (preferred), and other accounting systems.
