Position Overview:

We are seeking an IT Specialist - Helpdesk Tier 1 to provide phone and email support. Strong people skills are a must since our clients are the lifeblood of our business.

Must-Have Soft Skills:

  • Customer Support: Our clients are vital; without them, we have no business.
  • Communication: Proficient in both written and verbal communication; able to explain complex technical concepts in a non-technical manner.
  • Desire to Learn: Technology is ever-changing; adaptability to new solutions is key.
  • Research Skills: Know how to find answers when you're unsure.
  • Independent Work: Ability to execute tasks with minimal supervision; we expect proactive problem-solving.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Computer and Network Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose issues (e.g., DNS problems, Windows patch issues, malware).
  • Active Directory Skills: Proficient in resetting passwords, adding users, and configuring security groups; knowledge of group policy is a plus.
  • Networking Understanding: Familiarity with subnetting, VLANs, router/switch configurations, and wireless access point setup.
  • Computer Installation and Setup: Capable of joining computers to a domain, migrating user profiles, and setting up Outlook and O365 email.
  • Basic Server Understanding: Knowledge of domains, virtual machines (VMs), patch management, and basic scripting.
  • General Security Practices: Understanding the importance of firewalls, port closures, password management, user permissions, antivirus software, and backup procedures.
  • Documentation and Time Tracking: Experience with documentation and time tracking software is essential; we provide industry-leading tools to assist with this.

Compensation:

Pay is dependent on experience. There are opportunities for advancement into different positions for the right candidate.
