Job Summary

The Product Engineer oversees product design and change control for externally manufactured products. The role ensures products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout their life cycle while supporting supply chain continuity, product improvements, and cost efficiency initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects involving external manufacturing, including relationship management, supply continuity, design control, product introduction, and cost savings.
  • Develop and maintain product drawings, specifications, and technical files.
  • Manage design change procedures and testing activities (DFMEA, ISO, environmental/conditional testing, regulatory testing).
  • Investigate and resolve product and supply chain issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Coordinate new product introductions and demand planning with supply chain partners.
  • Define and monitor performance metrics for contract manufacturers.
  • Conduct financial and operational analysis (ROI, break-even, MOQ vs. EOQ, inventory transition).
  • Ensure compliance with standards such as FDA, EUMDR, GS1, UDI, GTIN, and labeling/marking requirements.
  • Partner with packaging and labeling teams to align with product design requirements.
  • Track new materials, technologies, and processes to enhance product innovation.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related scientific field.

Experience

  • 5+ years in engineering, product design, or specification development.
  • 3+ years of project management experience.
  • Experience in product design/change control and product life cycle management.
  • Hands-on experience with regulated products (e.g., FDA, EUDAMED).
  • Knowledge of GS1/UDI/barcode standards.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar).

Skills

  • Ability to read, interpret, and create product drawings and specifications.
  • Strong analytical, root cause, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional and external collaboration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of supply chain best practices and continuous improvement.

Pay: Php50, Php150,000.00 per month
