Summary of Functions

The Investment Manager – Fundraising is responsible for developing and executing strategies to secure capital and build strong investor relationships for our company's ventures. This role ensures that all fundraising efforts and investor relations initiatives align with the organization's growth plans across the healthcare, IoT, and fintech sectors. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in raising funds for early-stage tech companies and excels in communication, networking, and strategic planning. Strong negotiation skills, financial acumen, and the ability to articulate our vision to potential investors are essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet the company's capital requirements and growth objectives.
  • Identify and engage prospective investors, including venture capital firms, angel investors, and strategic corporate partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing investors through regular updates, reports, and proactive communication.
  • Prepare and refine persuasive investment materials (pitch decks, executive summaries, financial models) to support fundraising efforts.
  • Present the company's vision, business model, and financial performance convincingly to potential investors during pitches and meetings.
  • Lead negotiations with potential investors, managing the due diligence process and structuring deal terms in collaboration with legal/finance teams.
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership to align fundraising initiatives with business strategy and venture priorities.
  • Manage an investor pipeline or CRM system to track outreach, follow-ups, and investor engagement, ensuring timely progression toward funding goals.
  • Represent the company at virtual investor meetings, networking events, and industry conferences (as needed) to broaden our network and visibility.
  • Monitor market trends and investor sentiment in the tech and healthcare domains, adjusting fundraising tactics and strategy as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant fundraising regulations and maintain accurate documentation for all investment agreements and communications.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proven experience
    in investor relations or fundraising, with a successful track record raising capital for early-stage tech or health-tech companies.
  • Strong network
    of venture capitalists, angel investors, and/or strategic partners in the startup investment community.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    , with the ability to craft and deliver compelling investment pitches and proposals.
  • Solid understanding of finance
    – capable of developing financial models, understanding company financials, and guiding valuation discussions.
  • Exceptional negotiation and deal-closing abilities
    , including familiarity with term sheets and due diligence processes.
  • Highly organized
    approach to managing an investor pipeline, with the ability to juggle multiple investor conversations and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare, IoT, or fintech industries
    is a plus, to better understand and target investors in these domains.
  • Bachelor's degree
    in Business, Finance, or related field (MBA or other relevant postgraduate degree is a plus).
  • Collaborative and self-motivated
    mindset, with the ability to work closely with senior leadership and adapt in a fast-paced startup environment.
