We are looking for an experienced Drafting Manager to support a growing team delivering Australian residential and commercial projects. This includes new builds, renovation, extensions, and fit outs. Strong expertise is a must to ensure compliance with local standards and client requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and oversee drafting outputs, ensuring accuracy, detail, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Prepare and review drawings and documentation using Autodesk REVIT.
  • Develop and maintain the company template, families, and detail library from scratch. This is essential to the role, please do not apply unless you have extensive experience in template development.
  • Ensure all drafting deliverables comply with Australian industry standards.
  • Actively collaborate with engineers to translate concepts into comprehensive plans with minimal prompting.
  • Monitor progress of drafting deliverables against project timelines, budgets, and milestones.
  • Troubleshoot complex drafting issues and provide technical solutions.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years drafting experience, with proven exposure to both residential and commercial building construction in Australia.
  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit
  • Proven experience with Australian practices and fundamental understanding of structural systems - concrete, steel, and timber.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and develop technical documents and plans.
  • Confidence to initiate contact and resolve questions with key stakeholders
  • Has the ability to apply critical thinking to discover issues that invariably exist in models and designs, both architectural and structural.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to high quality work
  • Be an active participant in the process, querying aspects of design which don't look right and then has the confidence to implement the correct solution.
  • Retain and apply previously learnt knowledge to avoid repeat mistakes.
  • Has high standards and takes pride in their work.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to address technical issues independently
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively
