As a
Inventory Accounting Associate

you'll play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and operational efficiency. You'll manage cost and inventory data, support payroll coordination, assist with accounts payable monitoring, and help with reporting during month-end close. You'll collaborate with various teams to keep information flowing accurately and efficiently while helping identify opportunities to improve processes.

*Key Responsibilities:
Inventory and Cost Management*

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory balances and transactions.
  • Prepare and review direct labour and actual input cost reports.
  • Assist in determining and maintaining standard costing per product.
  • Conduct variance analysis between standard and actual costs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to cost efficiency and accuracy.

*Management Reporting and Month-End Closing*

  • Support month-end closing activities related to inventory and cost reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of management reports.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of data in financial reporting.

*Payroll and Data Support*

  • Assist in payroll processing and coordination with payroll officers.
  • Consolidate and verify cost data for system updates and audits.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data consolidation for reporting and compliance.

*Cross-Functional Collaboration*

  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable Officers, Reports Analysts, and State Managers to ensure smooth data flow.
  • Provide analytical support for process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Conduct detailed reconciliation of actual versus standard costs.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to address costing or data issues.

*AP Monitoring*

  • Monitor accounts payable transactions related to inventory and cost management.
  • Ensure proper documentation and accuracy of AP entries.
  • Prepare accurate and timely AP monitoring reports.

*Requirements:*

  • Bachelors Degree in Management Accounting, Accounting, or a related field
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in cost accounting or inventory accounting
  • Experience in payroll processing and month-end closing is preferred
  • Exposure to manufacturing or supply chain environments is advantageous
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced reporting and analysis)
  • Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems for cost and inventory management
  • Excellent analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Strong time management and task organization
  • Accuracy and consistency in data handling
  • Proactive and collaborative approach to issue resolution
  • Effective communicator across Finance, Payroll, and Operations teams
  • Adaptable and resourceful under time-sensitive closing requirements
  • High integrity in managing sensitive cost and payroll data
