Non-Negotiable Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (
CPA or CMA preferred
)

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2+ years in
construction or real estate development

Strong knowledge of
job costing
,
GAAP
, and
construction-specific accounting practices

Experience with construction accounting software (e.g.,
Procore, Acumatica, QuickBooks
)

Proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
and accounting ERP systems

Analytical and detail-oriented with a
proactive, problem-solving mindset

Strong communicator and collaborator—comfortable with technical and non-technical teams

What You'll Do:

  • Own and manage the accounting function for construction and development projects
  • Oversee
    job cost accounting
    , including budgeting, forecasting, and tracking actuals vs. budget
  • Coordinate and process
    vendor invoices
    ,
    draw requests
    ,
    lien waivers
    , and
    payment applications
  • Lead the
    month-end close process
    for all construction-related accounts, including
    reconciliations and accruals
  • Collaborate with project managers and the SCM team to track
    project budgets
    ,
    change orders
    , and
    cost-to-complete analyses
  • Maintain strong
    internal controls
    related to purchasing, approvals, and reporting
  • Prepare and present
    financial reporting
    for active and completed projects to internal stakeholders and leadership
  • Partner with
    external accountants
    , auditors, and finance teams for audits, tax filings, and compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement in accounting
    processes and systems
    for greater efficiency and accuracy
  • Manage and mentor
    junior accounting staff supporting construction projects
