In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety, quality and compliance of the company's food products, contributing to the overall success and growth of the organisation.

What you'll be doing

  • Conduct thorough inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process items and finished food products to guarantee adherence to food safety standards
  • Develop and implement effective quality control procedures and protocols to identify and mitigate potential food safety risks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse data, identify trends and recommend process improvements to enhance product quality
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest food technology, regulations and industry best practices, and advise the business accordingly
  • Document and maintain detailed records of all quality assurance activities to ensure full compliance with relevant legislation
  • Provide technical support and training to production staff to promote a culture of food safety
  • Assist in the development of new food products by providing expert technical guidance on formulations, processing methods and packaging requirements

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related scientific discipline
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a quality assurance or food technology role within the food manufacturing industry
  • Excellent understanding of food safety regulations, quality control principles and HACCP procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data and make informed decisions
  • Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment and testing methods to assess product quality and safety
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proactive and detail-oriented approach with a keen eye for identifying and addressing potential issues
