Senior Business Intelligence Developer and play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights using Looker Studio or Power BI. You will design and develop BI solutions, collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, and ensure the optimal performance and security of our reporting applications. With a strong background in data modeling, SQL, and data warehousing, you will drive our analytics capabilities forward, providing critical support and innovative solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Work Hours: Monday to Friday at least 4 hours overlap with US Pacific Time (PST) between 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM PST

Qualifications and preferred skills

  • Minimum 5 years Looker Studio or Power BI experience
  • 5+ years of data modeling experience including use of standard patterns such as Star Schema modeling.
  • 5+ years working with relational databases (eg., BigQuery, Snowflake, and or any RDBMS etc.)
  • 5 years of experience working in a data warehouse environment and a strong understanding of dimensional data modeling concepts
  • Advanced level experience in SQL

Responsibilities:

  • Designs and develops Business Intelligence solutions using Looker Studio or Power BI.
  • Works with business users and other stakeholders to understand business processes, and translates them into functional and non-functional specifications for BI solutions
  • Develops and supports software including applications, database integration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements.
  • Effectively visualize data in reporting applications (i.e., Looker Studio, Power BI) to provide business value and answer business questions.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to assist in supporting data warehousing solutions.
  • Design and develop reporting application scripts that import data from data marts or transactional systems and unit test the data extractions to verify they meet customer requirements.
  • Understand and promote use of tools and applications supported by the Analytics Team.
  • Gather the requirements for new reporting projects and provide development estimates.
  • Investigate and resolve problems with reporting applications in a production support environment.
  • Design and implement Looker Studio or Power BI data strategies and models that support complex reporting and analytics and ensure optimal performance and scalability.
  • Implement security measures within Looker Studio or Power BI reports and dashboards to ensure data confidentiality, integrity, and compliance.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of Looker Studio or Power BI reports and dashboards to ensure they are running efficiently and effectively, minimizing load times, and enhancing user experience.
  • Develop test plans and conduct thorough testing of Looker Studio or Power BI reports and dashboards. Document software defects, resolve, and re-test to ensure the highest level of quality and reliability.
