The Safety & Security Officer/Supervisor ensures the protection, safety, and well-being of all personnel, guests, and company assets across all store locations, warehouses, and offices. This role leads the company's security operations (outsourced security guards and store marshalls), safety programs (compliance with DOLE OSH Standards), and incident investigations. The position also coordinates with local law enforcement, fire departments, LGUs, and other government agencies for compliance, response, and preventive initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Security Management

● Oversee and manage all outsourced security guards and store marshalls (civilian security), ensuring consistent deployment, discipline, grooming, and adherence to company protocols.

● Develop and implement Security SOPs covering access control, cash handling, crowd control, robbery response, and emergency reporting.

● Conduct security audits for stores and warehouses; monitor CCTV, alarm systems, and physical barriers to prevent shrinkage, theft, and unauthorized access.

● Evaluate and manage security service providers, ensuring compliance with contracts, service quality, and KPI standards.

● Handle investigations involving theft, fraud, employee misconduct, or customer incidents. Collect evidence, interview witnesses, prepare incident reports, and recommend corrective action.

● Serve as company liaison with PNP, barangay officials, fire bureau, and other agencies for investigations, permits, and incident coordination. Safety & Health Oversight

● Lead implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) programs compliant with DOLE Department Order

● Serve as the company's Fire Marshal, ensuring full compliance with the Fire Code of the Philippines and related regulations.

● Conduct regular fire safety inspections, ensuring readiness of extinguishers, alarms, sprinklers, evacuation routes, and emergency exits.

● Oversee the implementation of the Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness Plan, including fire and earthquake drills, evacuation exercises, and safety orientations.

● Ensure stores maintain valid Fire Safety Inspection Certificates (FSIC) and other required government safety certifications.

● Act as the company's representative for government-certified safety roles, maintaining coordination with the BFP, DOLE, LGU, and other regulatory bodies for compliance, inspection, and renewal of permits.

● Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments in stores, kitchens, warehouses, and offices to identify hazards (fire, electrical, ergonomic, sanitation, etc.).

● Monitor compliance with food handling and sanitation standards in partnership with QA and Operations teams.

● Oversee proper accident/incident reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.

● Establish and train store safety officers, first aiders, and emergency response teams.

● Maintain a Safety Dashboard tracking accidents, near misses, corrective actions, and compliance status per site. Coordination & Training

● Design and deliver security and safety training programs for store marshalls, guards, and operations staff (e.g., conflict de-escalation, theft prevention, basic first aid, emergency response).

● Conduct fire safety, evacuation, and emergency response training for all employees in coordination with BFP-certified instructors.

● Conduct post-incident debriefings to strengthen store resilience and staff awareness.

● Collaborate with HR, Legal, and Operations for disciplinary actions or claims related to security or safety incidents.

● Build relationships with LGUs, PNP, BFP, and DOLE for preventive coordination, inspections, and compliance initiatives. Monitoring & Reporting

● Prepare monthly reports summarizing incidents, risk trends, and compliance scores.

● Track and analyze security KPIs (incident response time, case resolution) and safety KPIs (accident frequency rate, training compliance).

● Recommend cost-effective risk mitigation and safety investments (e.g., CCTV upgrades, signage, PPE, training modules). Qualifications

● Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Industrial Engineering, Safety Management, or related field.

● Minimum 5 years' experience in Security and/or Occupational Safety roles, ideally in retail, F&B, or logistics environments.

● Proven experience managing outsourced personnel and third-party vendors.

● Knowledge of Philippine OSH standards, PNP coordination protocols, and BFP compliance processes.

● Certification as Safety Officer (SO2 or higher) and/or Fire Marshal / BFP-recognized Fire Safety practitioner is an advantage.

● Strong leadership, investigative, and documentation skills.

● Excellent communication skills; calm under pressure and proactive in crisis management. Core Competencies
