The Safety Officer II is responsible for supporting and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on construction sites. The role involves implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, and ensuring a safe work environment for all personnel. This is a mid-level position requiring field experience and knowledge of construction safety practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs and initiatives.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety orientations, and training sessions for site personnel.
- Maintain records of inspections, incidents, and training activities.
- Keep up to date with changes in safety legislation and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not always required).
- Certification in safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH, DOLE-accredited SO2 training, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2–4 years of relevant experience in construction site safety.
- Knowledge of local and international HSE regulations.
- Strong communication, observation, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work in a high-risk, fast-paced environment.
