Fast-Casual Front of House Staff – Qualifications

Educational Background

  • At least high school graduate; senior high or college level is an advantage.
  • Hospitality, tourism, or business-related courses are a plus.

Experience

  • experience in customer service, cashiering, or food service is an advantage.
  • Training on POS, customer service, or food handling is a plus.

Skills

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Able to confidently talk to customers in front of the store, enthusiastically greet them, answer questions about the menu, and suggest food items to encourage purchase (suggestive selling).
  • Basic arithmetic skills for cashiering.
  • Knowledge of POS systems (training can be provided).
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good command of English and Filipino; other languages are a plus (especially for Fil-Chi restaurants).

Personal Qualities

  • Friendly, approachable, and customer-oriented.
  • Presentable and maintains good personal hygiene.
  • Honest, reliable, and punctual.
  • Can handle pressure during rush hours.
  • Team player but can work independently when needed.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Additional Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation rules.
  • Willing to be assigned to different FOH roles (cashier, counter staff, runner, dining area attendant).
  • Must be comfortable engaging with walk-in customers outside or at the front counter to increase sales.
