Position Summary:

The Perfect Child is looking for a Payroll Specialist. This person will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing the payroll for employees. Responsibilities include calculating wages, preparing reports, handling deductions, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent mathematical skills, and a deep understanding of payroll procedures and systems and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process multiple payrolls for employees on a weekly and bi-weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Enter payroll data, including hours worked, deductions, raises, and bonuses into the payroll system.

  • Calculate wages, overtime, and deductions accurately based on company policies and applicable laws.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements.

  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information; enter new employees into the HR/Payroll system.

  • Assist with the administration of employee benefits such as health insurance and retirement plans, and ensure it is accurately reflected on their pay.

  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management as needed.

  • Communicate with employees regarding payroll-related inquiries and resolve them in a professional and timely manner.

  • Conduct audits for payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies.

  • Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline payroll processes, enhance efficiency, and minimize discrepancies.

Qualifications:

· Previous experience in large company payroll processing.

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration. Master's degree preferred.

· Strong understanding of payroll principles, practices, and regulations.

· Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office, especially Excel.

· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
