Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our leading destination management company. This role is crucial in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and providing strategic insights to support business growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Job Highlights

  • Monthly Rate: Php 70,000-74,000
  • Number of Paid Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week
  • Schedule: Mondays to Fridays, flexible within 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas, Eastern Time (8 hours per day)
  • Work Arrangement: Work from home
  • Contract: Independent Contractor
  • Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an "Independent Contractor," the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and ensure the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or other relevant accounting standards.
  • Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
  • Assist in the development and management of annual budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely invoicing, payments, and collections.
  • Monitor and control company expenditures, ensuring all expenses are recorded accurately and within budget.
  • Prepare and file all necessary tax returns, ensuring compliance with national regulations. Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors as needed.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.
  • Lead the preparation for annual audits, working closely with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Provide strategic financial support to senior management, offering insights and recommendations to inform business decisions and strategy.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in events, hospitality, or a project-based industry such as construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting principles and standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with value-added tax (VAT) filings and compliance.
