Job Description:

  • An Operating Room Technician (OR Tech) plays a critical role in healthcare by assisting surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures. Their responsibilities include:

  • Preparing the operating room: Setting up the surgical suite with necessary instruments and supplies.

  • Sterilizing equipment: Ensuring all instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
  • Assisting during operations: Passing instruments to surgeons and monitoring the surgical field.
  • Post-operative care: Helping with the recovery process and monitoring patient vital signs.
  • Maintaining a sterile environment: Ensuring all supplies and instruments are kept clean and safe for patient care.

    OR Techs must have a high school diploma, CPR certification, and typically require a surgical technologist training program.
