DFYCampaign is seeking a skilled and creative Podcast & Video Editor to join our content production team. If you're passionate about long-form content and have the technical expertise to bring podcast episodes to life, we want to hear from you.

Position Overview

We're looking for an experienced editor who specializes in long-form content and can transform raw podcast recordings into polished, engaging episodes. You'll be responsible for both audio and video editing of podcast episodes ranging from 1-3 hours in length, ensuring our content meets high production standards while maintaining the authentic feel of the conversation.

Key Responsibilities

Audio Editing

  • Edit long-form podcast episodes (1-3 hours) for optimal sound quality and flow
  • Remove filler words, awkward pauses, and unwanted segments while maintaining natural conversation flow
  • Balance audio levels and enhance sound quality throughout the episode
  • Add music, intro/outro sequences, and transitions
  • Clean up background noise and audio imperfections

Video Editing

  • Edit video versions of podcast episodes with professional polish
  • Sync audio and video perfectly throughout lengthy recordings
  • Create engaging visual elements, lower thirds, graphics, and text overlays
  • Color correct and enhance video quality
  • Optimize footage for various platforms (YouTube, social media, etc.)

Content Optimization

  • Identify and create highlight clips for social media promotion
  • Ensure brand consistency across all episodes
  • Organize and manage project files efficiently
  • Meet deadlines and maintain consistent upload schedules
  • Collaborate with the team on creative direction and improvements

Qualifications

Required:

  • Proven experience editing long-form podcast content (1+ hours)
  • Proficiency with professional editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar)
  • Strong audio editing skills using tools like Adobe Audition, Logic Pro, or Audacity
  • Understanding of audio mixing, mastering, and sound design principles
  • Ability to work with large video files and manage extensive project timelines
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Excellent time management skills to handle lengthy content efficiently
  • Portfolio or samples of previous podcast/video editing work

Preferred:

  • Experience with podcast-specific workflows and distribution platforms
  • Knowledge of YouTube optimization and formatting
  • Familiarity with motion graphics and animation (After Effects)
  • Understanding of podcast SEO and content strategy
  • Experience creating social media clips and promotional content
  • Knowledge of various export formats and compression techniques

Technical Requirements

  • Reliable computer capable of handling large video files
  • High-speed internet connection for file transfers
  • Access to sufficient editing software

The ideal candidate has a keen ear for audio quality and an eye for visual storytelling. You should be comfortable spending hours in the editing suite perfecting long-form content, have the patience for detailed work, and understand how to maintain viewer/listener engagement throughout extended episodes.
