Accountability Statement (purpose of the position)

As an Distribution Design Engineer, you will be required to undertake overhead and underground distribution design projects. Your technical background will allow you to drive engineering solutions whilst developing and gaining exposure to complex and cutting-edge technologies in a business with a pure focus on power and energy.

Responsibilities

The role as Distribution Engineer will involve, but not be limited to, the following:

› Working knowledge of relevant Standards for the design and supply of line designs and equipment at voltages up to and including 66kV › Preparation of designs and arranging the layout of equipment for outdoor, semi-indoor, and indoor Zone Substations to meet the required Australian Standards.

› Prepare detailed construction plans for Distribution Design projects and maintain system records in accordance with appropriate standards and customer requirements.

› Project management of distribution design works undertaken demonstrating planning, time management, communication, reporting, and financial control.

› Preparation of detailed design on substation, street lighting, underground and overhead designs up to 66KV will be highly regarded.

› Computer literacy skills sufficient to operate common word processing, spreadsheet, AutoCAD, and customer information systems.

› Experience in the electricity distribution network in design and specialist engineering services will be highly regarded.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

The Engineer will require the following skills and attributes:

› Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)

› Eligible and working towards National Engineering Registration (NER) or already registered

› Effective communication skills

› Detailed knowledge and experience in Distribution Design principles and procedures.

› Knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD design (or equivalent), AGI32, Poles and Wires, electrical networks, operation, and construction plan

› High level experience in customer and stakeholder negotiation

› Proven ability of developing and applying new technology/innovations

› Proven ability to apply project Design Management principles

› Understanding of Safety in Design practices
