Role Overview

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will be responsible for researching, identifying, and engaging prospective clients that match VMG's Ideal Customer Profile (ICP). Working closely with the sales and marketing teams, the SDR will use lead generation tools, LinkedIn, email, and CRM systems to build targeted outbound sequences and generate qualified leads for the sales pipeline.

This role requires excellent research skills, critical thinking, and the ability to assess prospects based on their online presence and alignment with our target industries. The SDR will be expected to maintain high productivity while ensuring a thoughtful, personalized approach to outreach.

Key Responsibilities

Prospect Research & Qualification

● Use tools like , LinkedIn, and other data tools to identify and qualify prospects that align with VMG's ICP.

● Review LinkedIn profiles, company websites, and industry information to assess potential fit before outreach.

● Segment and prioritize leads based on relevance, engagement potential, and strategic value.

Outbound Campaign Creation & Execution

● Build and execute targeted outbound email sequences using and CRM tools.

● Customize messaging to align with each prospect's role, industry, and potential business needs.

● Collaborate with marketing to ensure outbound campaigns are aligned with broader content and brand strategy.

Pipeline Development

● Generate a consistent flow of qualified leads to pass to the U.S. business development team

● Track outreach activity, response rates, and conversion metrics to continuously improve performance.

● Follow up on inbound leads and event-based contacts when required.

Collaboration & Reporting

● Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to refine ICP criteria, outreach messaging, and campaign targeting.

● Document prospecting activities, lead details, and notes in the CRM.

● Provide regular reports on activity levels, conversion rates, and pipeline contributions.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

● 2 or more years of experience in a sales development, lead generation, or similar role (B2B environment preferred).

● Familiarity with outbound prospecting tools (e.g., , LinkedIn Sales Navigator).

● Strong research skills and the ability to quickly evaluate prospect fit.

● Excellent written English skills for crafting clear, professional outreach messages.

● Proficiency in CRM systems (HubSpot) and email automation tools.

Preferred

● Experience prospecting for services in publishing, creative production, or digital media industries.

● Knowledge of sales methodologies such as SPIN Selling, Challenger, or similar frameworks.
