Job Description

As a Technical Writer, you will create and maintain clear, accurate documentation across the software development lifecycle. You'll partner with Product, Development, QA, and Operations to deliver sprint notes, knowledgebase content, SOPs, and training materials that support transparency, consistency, and scalable delivery.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Business, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in technical writing, product documentation, or software documentation
• Experience documenting software features, workflows, and system functionality
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies
• Experience creating SOPs, process maps, or knowledgebase content
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts
• Ability to collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, QA engineers, and cross-functional teams
• Ability to work accurately and effectively under pressure
• HRIS, Payroll, or PEO experience preferred but not required
• Experience using CMS or documentation platforms preferred

Computer Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Experience using documentation tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, or similar platforms
• Working knowledge of Agile development environments

Certifications & Licenses

• Technical Writing certification preferred but not required

Your Daily Tasks

Essential Functions

• Create and maintain documentation for software releases, including features, enhancements, and defect resolutions
• Develop sprint summaries, release notes, and post-release updates for internal and external stakeholders
• Write and maintain internal knowledgebase articles supporting Product, Development, QA, Operations, and Client Services
• Translate functional specifications and user stories into clear documentation in partnership with Product Managers
• Collaborate with Development and QA teams to ensure technical accuracy and completeness
• Document processes, workflows, and SOPs to support onboarding and operational alignment
• Maintain consistent documentation structure, versioning, and taxonomy
• Support creation of client-facing training materials, product guides, and help content
• Support User Acceptance Testing and Beta documentation
• Gather details from cross-functional teams to ensure documentation reflects intended system behavior
• Ensure all documentation aligns with corporate mission, goals, and branding standards
• Identify and report documentation gaps, risks, or required updates
• Support post-implementation documentation and ongoing updates
• Develop guides and materials to support migrations and rollout efforts
