Job Summary:

The General Services Staff / Watchman is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and security of the clinic premises. This role ensures a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors by performing general maintenance, janitorial tasks, and monitoring the clinic premises to prevent unauthorized access and theft.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Security and Watchman Duties:

  • Monitor and secure all entry and exit points of the clinic.
  • Perform regular patrols inside and around the clinic premises.
  • Check and verify the identification of all visitors, especially during off-hours.
  • Report any suspicious activity, security breaches, or safety hazards immediately to the clinic management.
  • Ensure that doors, windows, and gates are properly locked during off-hours.
  • Assist in emergency situations (e.g., fire, medical, or security incidents).

2. General Services / Housekeeping Duties:

  • Maintain cleanliness in common areas (e.g., waiting rooms, hallways, comfort rooms, exterior areas).
  • Empty trash bins, sweep floors, clean windows, and disinfect surfaces regularly.
  • Ensure proper disposal of waste, including medical and hazardous waste according to clinic protocols.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, basic plumbing, fixing fixtures).
  • Assist in moving furniture, supplies, or equipment when needed.
  • Refill supplies in bathrooms and other facility areas as needed.

3. Support Duties:

  • Open and close the clinic facilities as scheduled.
  • Assist staff and patients in non-medical needs as requested (e.g., guiding visitors, helping with directions).
  • Receive deliveries and report items received to the appropriate personnel.
  • Coordinate with external maintenance personnel or contractors as instructed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar role (janitorial/security) is an advantage.
  • Physically fit and able to lift/move heavy items as needed.
  • Trustworthy, reliable, and with good observation skills.
  • Able to follow instructions and clinic policies diligently.
  • Willing to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays if required.

  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, waste materials, and outdoor weather conditions.
