Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator (SMP – Structural, Mechanical, and Piping) to join our client's engineering team. The successful candidate will oversee the SMP estimating and tendering process, preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates, bid packages, and budget reports for major construction and engineering projects. This role plays a vital part in ensuring competitive and compliant bids while contributing to standardization and continuous improvement in estimating procedures and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and oversee SMP estimates and tender submissions, ensuring detailed and accurate cost breakdowns for labor, materials, and schedules.
  • Analyze design drawings, specifications, and bid documents to assess risks, opportunities, and scope clarity.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids and supplier quotations, ensuring both technical and commercial alignment.
  • Recommend cost-reduction and value engineering options to enhance bid competitiveness and efficiency.
  • Prepare and respond to RFIs, clarifications, and cost-related documentation for both clients and subcontractors.
  • Ensure all legislative, pre-contract, and commercial obligations are met within tender submissions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the estimating team, sharing best practices and industry insights.
  • Collaborate with management to implement continuous improvement initiatives in estimation systems and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an SMP Estimator or Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the construction, mining, or oil & gas industries.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with other estimation and scheduling tools.
  • Strong ability to interpret specifications, drawings, and contractual documents.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client coordination skills.
  • Experience supporting remote or fly-in fly-out projects is an advantage.
  • Willing to work in the office full-time at Arcovia City, Brgy. Ugong, Pasig City. (Monday - Friday, 7AM to 4PM)
