Job Description

As a
Finance Business Partner,
you will support strategic financial objectives by preparing financial statements, overseeing compliance, managing budgeting cycles, and guiding subsidiary accounting processes. You will ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, and effective financial governance across the organization.

The Qualifications We Seek

Skills

  • 3 to 5 years' relevant experience
  • Proven ability to work toward and achieve key goals across multiple priorities while maintaining relationships
  • Strong communication skills, with willingness to give, receive, and learn from feedback
  • Excellent skills in transactional accounting and end-of-month processes
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

Advanced Excel skills

  • Proven ability to prepare financial statements (profit and loss, balance sheet)
  • Proven ability to prepare financial performance reports and analyze variances
  • Flexibility to adapt to new processes and governance requirements
  • Strong advisory, negotiation, consultation, and influencing skills

Knowledge

  • Relevant knowledge for the role with depth in specialization
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting concepts and standards
  • Knowledge of subsidiary entities and consolidation concepts
  • Knowledge of budget and forecast processes

Experience

  • Experience in Christian or Corporate Organisations (Desirable)
  • Experience in the For-Purpose (NFP) sector (Desirable)
  • Experience in building relationships and working across all levels of an organization
  • Experience processing journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts
  • Experience preparing processes and procedures
  • Experience preparing budgets and forecast models
  • Experience using Workday, Microsoft GP, and Power BI (highly regarded)

Qualifications

  • Qualifications recognized by a Professional Accounting Body in Australia - CPA, CA, or CIMA, or working towards (Essential)
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business (Essential)

Your Daily Tasks

  • Design, develop, and lead key projects aligned with the organization's Mission and Strategy
  • Manage initiatives within your specialization and support cross-department understanding
  • Contribute to team results, collaboration, and organizational culture

Reporting:

  • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements for subsidiary entities
  • Approve journal entries and reconcile balances
  • Ensure adherence to international accounting standards and regulatory requirements

Budgeting and Performance Review:

  • Coordinate annual budget and forecast processes
  • Report on monthly financial performance and metrics

Compliance:

  • Supervise and support external auditors during annual audits
  • Prepare local compliance certifications and documentation
  • Manage local tax compliance and liaise with tax advisors

Transactions:

  • Review and approve local payroll
  • Supervise payment of vendor invoices
  • Calculate and remit program disbursements
  • Approve bank payments
  • Monitor cash requirements of local entities
  • Prepare monthly cash disbursements for subsidiaries
  • Manage payment gateway providers

Processes:

  • Establish processes and procedures for existing and new subsidiaries
  • Ensure strong internal controls across financial activities
  • Understand and comply with Delegation of Authorities

Others:

  • Participation in corporate and prayer/worship activities encouraged
  • Perform additional duties as required
