Your Role

As an AU Estimator, you are responsible for:

Cost Estimation:

• Read blueprints to create a comprehensive list of all required materials, equipment, and labor.
• Accurately assess and estimate associated costs, aiming for close proximity to anticipated costs.

Cost Monitoring:

• Regularly monitor and assess cost estimations.
• Modify and devise new project schedules and cost estimates with the head estimator.
• Assess the overall status of the project, including activity status.

Project Execution & Management:

• Work efficiently to deadlines, prioritizing and finishing jobs on time.
• Gather proposals, specifications, and related documents needed for an estimate.
• Conduct analysis to determine the correct project scope.
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless execution.
• Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility.
• Work in a safe manner and always follow safety rules.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management:

• Maintain effective and professional relationships with vendors, clients, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Communicate with stakeholders (clients and internal trades) to determine the correct scope for an estimate.
• Deliver the estimate to stakeholders in the required manner (e.g., email or portal upload).
• Assist the data analyst with the preparation of new supplier price list spreadsheets for upload.
• Ensure accurate management of the directory of contractors, subcontractors, and chief suppliers (
  SIMPRO
  ).

Reporting & Documentation:

• Report and escalate to management as needed.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Non-Negotiable Technical Skills

• Experience:
• At least 3 years of similar experience.
• Experience or exposure in construction estimation.
• Estimation Tools & Proficiency:
• Experience using Estimating tools/software.
• Demonstrated experience in reading design plans and developing cost estimates.
• Demonstrated ability to determine key variables for cost and other estimates.
• Industry Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of the infrastructure construction process.
• Strong knowledge of design, planning, and legislative requirements.
• Information Gathering:
• Experience gathering accurate information from sites, suppliers, and other venues.
• Communication:
• Confident negotiation skills.
