Collections Assistant

The Collections Assistant will support the Collections Department in ensuring timely and accurate collection of premiums, fees, and other receivables for AlliedBankers Insurance Corporation. The role involves assisting with account monitoring, client follow-ups, reconciliation, and reporting to help maintain a healthy cash flow and minimize outstanding debts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in monitoring client accounts to ensure timely payment of insurance premiums and related fees.
- Conduct follow-ups with clients via phone, email, or in-person regarding overdue accounts.
- Prepare and send statements, reminders, and notices for delinquent accounts.
- Maintain accurate records of collection activities and update client account information in the system.
- Reconcile accounts receivable reports with payments received and escalate discrepancies to the Collections Manager.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reports on collections performance and aging accounts.
- Support the team in implementing collection strategies and processes to improve efficiency.
- Provide administrative support to the Collections Department, including filing, data entry, and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or customer service is an advantage.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet deadlines.
