Accounting Assistant

Job Summary
The Accounting Assistant will manage accounts payable and receivable, coordinate payroll processes, facilitate communication with partner companies, and oversee purchasing and cash flow activities. This role requires a detail-oriented and organized professional with strong accounting knowledge, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounts Payable (AP):
- Process supplier invoices and ensure accuracy of supporting documents.
- Verify purchase orders, receiving reports, and invoice details before posting.
- Prepare check vouchers and ensure timely payments to vendors.
- Monitor and reconcile AP aging reports and supplier statements.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of payables.
2. Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Prepare and issue billing invoices to customers.
- Monitor incoming payments and update collections in the system.
- Follow up on outstanding receivables and prepare aging reports.
- Reconcile customer accounts and ensure proper application of payments.
3. Payroll:
- Assist in the preparation of payroll, ensuring accuracy of employee data, attendance, and deductions.
- Compute statutory deductions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, Tax) and ensure timely remittances.
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
4. Compliance and Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation and submission of government reports and remittances (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).
- Support in the preparation of schedules and documents for audits and compliance checks.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
5. General Accounting Support:
- Record and post journal entries in SAP.
- Assist in monthly account reconciliations and closing activities.
- Maintain organized filing of accounting documents.
- Provide assistance to the Accounting Supervisor and Finance Manager in preparing financial reports and analysis.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, compliance or general accounting functions.
Skills:
- Proficient in SAP Accounting Software (or similar ERP systems).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel).
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
- Good communication and analytical skills.
