Job Summary

The Assistant Material and Control Manager support the Material and Control Manager in overseeing the operations of the Material Control Division. This role is responsible for assisting in the planning, coordination, and monitoring of all activities related to material inventory, warehousing, logistics, and distribution. The position ensures compliance with company policies, promotes operational efficiency, and provides leadership support in the absence of the Material and Control Manager.


Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Support and Supervision

  • Assist in managing the daily operations of the Material Control Division, ensuring efficient coordination among warehouse, dispatch, and weighing scale departments.
  • Supervise and monitor staff performance across all MCD sections.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and housekeeping requirements within all storage and dispatch areas.

2. Inventory Control and Monitoring

  • Maintain accurate inventory records of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.
  • Review and verify inventory reports, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure proper documentation of all material movements.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Production departments to align material availability with operational needs.

3. Documentation and Reporting

  • Assist in reviewing and endorsing MCD documents and reports for the Manager's approval, including:

  • Daily Inventory Reports

  • Sales Invoices, Delivery Receipts, and Trip Tickets
  • Receiving Reports (RR, RRGR)
  • Delivery Receipt Trip Tickets (DRTT)
  • Purchase Orders (PO)
  • Billing Statements (gasoline, trucking, and related expenses)
  • Prepare and submit periodic operational and inventory reports.

4. Policy Implementation and Improvement

  • Implement approved MCD policies and procedures, ensuring full compliance across all sections.
  • Recommend policy and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and cost control.

5. Financial and Administrative Support

  • Monitor utilization and liquidation of the MCD petty cash fund under the Traffic Section.
  • Ensure proper control, documentation, and compliance with company accounting standards.

6. Coordination and Communication

  • Coordinate with internal departments (Production, Purchasing, Sales, and Accounting) to ensure the seamless flow of materials and accurate reporting.
  • Act as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the MCD in the absence of the Material and Control Manager.
  • Perform other related tasks or special assignments as directed by the Material and Control Manager or Plant Manager.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (CPA is an advantage)
  • Experience: At least three (3) years of relevant experience in material control, warehousing, or logistics
  • Training: Certified Internal Auditor and BIR Taxation training preferred

  • Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Knowledge in SAP or similar ERP systems
