Purpose of the Role
The purpose of the Deputy Manager role is to motivate, inspire, and support team members. This role facilitates high-standard operations without needing to be operationally technical themselves; the Deputy Manager ensures that Client KPIs and SLAs are met.
The mission of the Deputy Manager as a people leader is to mentor and develop team members, helping them become the best versions of themselves by providing a nurturing environment where they can thrive.
Main duties include:
People Leadership
- This role oversees 24-35 team members, up to 10 strategic initiatives, or special project team members. The Deputy Manager will have access to and responsibility over an SME where required. They effectively embed the leadership framework, conduct regular touch base meetings and huddles to identify improvement areas and highlight achievements, and conduct and report training needs analysis in collaboration with the delivery functions.
Delivery Management
- The Deputy Manager is responsible for maintaining the quality of the work by reviewing the delivery output. This includes managing the transition of new tasks, partnering for performance and performance development actions, and addressing any questions that require attention.
Commercial & Client Management
- The Deputy Manager advocates the alignment between all Frontline teams and their respective Clients. This requires awareness of the differences between Philippine and Australian cultures, and binding these together through VBP leadership and engagement processes. The Deputy Manager ensures quality of work by reviewing the work completed by their team and/or liaising with the Quality Assurance team or Client Point of Contact, e.g, new tasks, Partnering for Performance, Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), or any other situation that requires it.
KPI Delivery
- The Deputy Manager ensures team members are set up for success by having access to and knowledge of the right tools, training, and support. The CSM provides appropriate and transparent awareness of challenges and opportunities to Segment Heads.
Business Improvement
- In addition to the daily tactical activities and deliverables of the Deputy Manager, they will contribute not only to key business improvement initiatives but also to social and environmental causes aligned to VBP's mission. Regularly highlights any challenges/risks/improvement opportunities that the business should be considering.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 4+ years' experience delivering measurable results on process improvement/redesign projects.
- Proven work experience as a supervisor or similar role;
- Excellent communication and leadership skills;
- Organizational, decision-making, and time management skills;
- Confidence and skillful negotiation skills
- Managing performance
