JOB PURPOSE

The Junior Project Management Office Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful initiation, planning, execution, and closure of IT projects.

Project Management Office Group Responsibilities

The Project Management Office Manager:

  • Ensures that all projects are well-defined in terms of scope, expected outcomes, and plans (budget, schedule, and quality).
  • Ensures that all projects are within the planned scope, budget & effort, schedule, quality targets.
  • Ensures that all projects are successfully delivered, that progress is monitored in a timely manner, that course corrections are implemented when objectives are impeded, and that issues and risks are addressed.
  • Ensures that all stakeholders are managed, that regular cadence meetings are set up with all relevant stakeholders, that all project progress and status are regularly documented and communicated, and that issues and risks affecting stakeholder objectives an expected project outcomes are escalated in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that all projects comply with applicable audit requirements and company policies and standards.
  • Ensures that all projects are properly closed out, and that learnings and best practices are documented and shared.
  • Oversees day-to-day support across all PMO services aligned to the current assignment or business area
  • Provides advice and guidance regarding all aspects of the PMO service to the Management Committee
  • Controls and monitors any potential problems within any of the PMO services and escalates issues to the appropriate project team members
  • Provides direction on and ensures adherence to Project Management Office Group Best Practice standards
  • Manages cross-project issues and risks to delivery.
  • Plans for the Steering Committee agenda, and ensures all materials to be presented are available
  • Facilitates Steering Committee meetings for IT Investments and Status Reporting
  • Manages and, with the IT Head, defines the Software Development Lifecycle, the overall Project Lifecycle and associated deliverables.

People Management:

The Project Management Office Manager:

  • Contributes to the performance reviews of the PMO team
  • Provides the performance reviews required by HR in a timely manner.
  • Ensure team's continuous learning and growth through structured training, coaching, mentoring on-the-job or immersion programs

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree in any Information Technology or Business course
  • At least 5 years of work experience as a Manager in Information Technology-related projects.
  • PMP, ITIL Certifications are preferred.
  • Knowledge in Agile and SCRUM are preferred.
