The Transport Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily transportation operations to ensure the efficient, safe, and timely movement of parcels, goods, and personnel. This role manages the dispatching, routing, and tracking of delivery vehicles, supervises drivers, and ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, and transport regulations. The Transport Supervisor works closely with operations and logistics teams to optimize delivery performance and vehicle utilization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and monitor the daily transport operations, including dispatching, routing, and scheduling of company vehicles.
  • Ensure all deliveries and pickups are completed accurately, efficiently, and within the prescribed timelines.
  • Oversee driver performance, attendance, and compliance with safety protocols and company policies.
  • Coordinate with the logistics and operations team to align transport activities with overall branch or hub operations.
  • Inspect and ensure all vehicles are properly maintained, cleaned, and safe for operation.
  • Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle mileage, and maintenance records to optimize operational costs.
  • Investigate transport-related incidents or delays and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with traffic laws, government regulations, and company transport procedures.
  • Prepare and submit reports on vehicle utilization, performance, and transport KPIs.
  • Support recruitment, training, and evaluation of drivers and other transport personnel.
  • Coordinate with the Fleet Maintenance or QA team for repair schedules and vehicle inspection requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, trips, and transport documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in transport, fleet, or logistics operations, preferably in a courier or distribution company.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, routing systems, and local traffic laws.
  • Proficient in MS Office and logistics software or tracking systems.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays, if required.
