Assistant Construction Manager

The Construction Assistant Manager will support the owner's development and construction team in overseeing restaurant construction projects from design through completion. This role assists in managing schedules, budgets, vendors, and contractors while ensuring all projects meet quality standards and brand requirements. He/She will act as a liaison between internal stakeholders (real estate, operations, design) and external partners (architects, engineers, general contractors).
- Project Coordination: Support planning, execution, and communication across restaurant construction projects.
- Vendor Management: Assist in sourcing, contracting, and coordinating vendors and contractors.
- Budget Oversight: Help track budgets, review costs, and maintain financial records.
- Site Monitoring: Conduct site visits, report progress, and support project meetings.
- Project Closeout: Assist with final inspections, turnover, and document archiving.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Min 5 years of experience in construction or project management, preferably in restaurant, hospitality, or retail development.
Understanding of construction drawings, building codes, and permitting processes.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (e.g., Procore, Smartsheet, or MS Project).
Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
Experience working on the owner's side or with restaurant chains.
Knowledge of restaurant-specific construction elements (e.g., kitchen build-outs, grease traps, health code compliance).
