JOB SUMMARY:
The
Pharma Business Head
will lead the development, growth, and overall management of the pharmaceutical business vertical within Healthway Medical Network. This role will play a critical part in
driving strategic initiatives, forging partnerships, and ensuring sustainable business performance across the pharma segment.
The position requires a visionary leader with deep experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries who can identify opportunities, optimize operations, and contribute to the transformation agenda of Healthway Medical Network.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Develop and execute the overall strategy for the pharmaceutical business within Healthway Medical Network, aligned with the network's transformation roadmap.
- Identify and assess new business opportunities, including retail pharmacy, specialty drugs, hospital pharmacy services, and supply chain solutions.
- Lead market research and competitive benchmarking to strengthen the network's positioning in the healthcare and pharma industry.
Business Development & Partnerships
- Establish and manage strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical companies, distributors, hospitals, and healthcare providers.
- Drive negotiations for collaborations, joint ventures, and supply agreements to enhance service delivery and revenue streams.
- Explore digital health and e-pharmacy opportunities to strengthen the network's service offerings.
Operations & Performance Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the pharma business, ensuring compliance with
Philippine FDA regulations, DOH standards, and industry best practices
. - Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track business growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure effective demand forecasting, inventory management, and supply chain resilience.
Financial & Risk Management
- Drive revenue growth and profitability while managing costs and ensuring operational sustainability.
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for the pharma business line.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to regulatory compliance, supply chain disruptions, and market shifts.
Leadership & People Management
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing pharma business team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the organization.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams under Strategy and Transformation to deliver enterprise-wide initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in
Pharmacy, Business Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field
; Master's degree (MBA, MPH, MHA) preferred. - At least
10–12 years of progressive experience
in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or related industries, with at least
5 years in a senior leadership role
. - Strong background in
business development, pharma operations, and strategic management
. - Proven track record in building and scaling healthcare or pharmaceutical businesses in the Philippines.
- In-depth knowledge of the Philippine healthcare system, pharmaceutical regulatory environment, and market dynamics.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly adaptable with strong problem-solving and transformation mindset.
