A CFO must be well-versed in all aspects of financial management ranging from simple accounting to broad investment and banking operations. The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader since all relative departments of the organization will be under their command.

The goal is to protect the company's revenues and profits to achieve full financial control and sustainable growth.

CFO duties and responsibilities

• Leadership ability


• The ability to effectively lead a team toward specific goals without causing tension is essential for a chief financial officer.


• Top-notch communication skills.


• Needs to be able to communicate well – in person and in writing – with everyone on our staff.


• Assist with high-level decisions about policy and strategy.


• Help with recruiting new staff members when necessary.


• Oversee the company's fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.


• Assure legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.


• Identify and address financial risks and opportunities for the company.


• Supervise financial reporting and budgeting team.


• Review financial reports for ways to reduce costs.


• Work well with Chief Marketing Officer, CEO, and COO to develop the strategic plan.


• Providing leadership, direction, and management of the finance and accounting team


• Providing strategic recommendations to the CEO/president and members of the executive management team


• Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting


• Advising on long-term business and financial planning


• Establishing and developing relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholders


• Reviewing all formal finance, HR, and IT-related procedures

Minimum Qualifications

The role of CFO is very senior, hence a high level of experience is expected for anyone applying for this role. A Bachelor's degree in the following will be expected for this role:


• Accounting


• Finance or Economics


• An  CPA is also highly desirable.


• At least 10 years' experience in the finance industry and managing a team is a must – with examples of when they have demonstrated excellence in the workplace. A CFO must display a cohesive ability in interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written. They must be able to engage with staff at all levels of the organization and exercise sound judgment.
