Their duties include responding to repair requests, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring facilities are safe and in good working order. They may also handle tasks like landscaping, minor carpentry, and documenting maintenance activities. Core responsibilities

  • Perform repairs: Address issues with machinery, equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, and building structures. This includes both emergency and planned repairs.
  • Conduct routine maintenance: Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment and systems to ensure they are running efficiently and to identify potential problems early.
  • Troubleshoot problems: Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and other system failures, which can often make up a significant part of the job, especially in industrial settings.
  • Install and upgrade: Assist with the installation of new equipment and upgrades to facility systems.
  • Document work: Keep detailed records of all maintenance activities, service logs, and inspections.
  • Ensure safety: Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure their own safety and the safety of others.
  • Communicate: Coordinate with supervisors and other team members to prioritize tasks and communicate maintenance needs.
  • Handle general upkeep: Perform various other duties such as landscaping, painting, and minor carpentry to maintain the overall condition of the property.
  • Liaise with external specialists: Contact and work with external contractors for larger projects that are beyond the scope of the internal team
