JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Supervise the operations of the Regulatory Compliance Department, ensuring effective oversight and coordination of all regulatory activities.
  • Conduct site visits as necessary to facilitate permit processing and oversee compliance at project locations.
  • Handle end-to-end documentation and regulatory processing for construction projects, from ground preparation to project completion.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements impacting the company's operations.
  • Ensure all activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and permit conditions.
  • Oversee the permitting process, including preparation, submission, and tracking of permit applications.
  • Coordinate with relevant regulatory agencies to obtain required permit approvals.
  • Monitor compliance with permit timelines and conditions, ensuring timely actions and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather necessary information and documentation for permit applications.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with regulatory agencies, local authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance to internal teams on regulatory matters to minimize compliance-related risks.
  • Support the legal and compliance teams in the development and updating of policies and procedures related to permitting and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position within the power and energy industry, including at least 3 years as a permitting practitioner at the project operations level.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with regulatory authorities and local or regional government units, as well as coordinating with internal stakeholders across various departments.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, especially in interactions with government agencies, local authorities, and clients.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and conduct site visits to process permits or oversee compliance.
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to track and manage documentation and deadlines.
  • Strong project coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple permitting processes simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with document tracking systems.
