The Rock Work Supervisor oversees all activities related to rock excavation, drilling, blasting, scaling, and stabilization works at construction or mining sites. The role ensures that rock works are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering specifications, safety regulations, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervision of Rock Work Activities

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all rock excavation, drilling, and blasting operations.

  • Oversee scaling, shotcreting, rock bolting, anchoring, and other stabilization works.

  • Ensure the proper use of machinery such as rock drills, jackhammers, compressors, and excavators.

  • Monitor progress and quality of rock excavation and support installation.

2. Safety Management

  • Enforce strict compliance with safety regulations, especially concerning blasting and high-risk excavation.

  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure all workers use personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Identify potential rock fall hazards and implement preventive safety measures.

  • Coordinate with Safety Officers to manage risk assessments and incident reports.

3. Technical and Operational Oversight

  • Review and interpret geotechnical drawings, cross-sections, and excavation plans.

  • Supervise drilling patterns, charge calculations, and blast timing to achieve desired fragmentation.

  • Ensure rock slopes and faces are stabilized according to design specifications.

  • Inspect and approve scaling and trimming of exposed rock surfaces.

4. Resource Management

  • Manage labor teams, assigning tasks to drillers, blasters, and equipment operators.

  • Ensure availability and proper maintenance of tools, explosives, and safety gear.

  • Maintain records of work progress, equipment usage, and material consumption.

5. Coordination and Reporting

  • Coordinate daily activities with site engineers, geologists, and construction managers.

  • Prepare daily and weekly reports on rock work progress, challenges, and solutions.

  • Provide input to scheduling and sequencing of excavation and stabilization works.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php40, Php80,000.00 per month
