Overview:

The Rock Work Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating on-site rock excavation, drilling, blasting, and stabilization activities. Working under the direction of the Site or Project Engineer, the Foreman ensures that all rock works are carried out safely, efficiently, and according to design specifications and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervision of Field Activities

  • Direct and oversee daily rock excavation, drilling, blasting, and scaling operations.

  • Supervise teams of drillers, blasters, equipment operators, and laborers.

  • Ensure proper execution of rock bolting, shotcreting, and other stabilization or protection works.

  • Check rock face conditions regularly and ensure trimming, scaling, and cleaning are done safely.

2. Safety and Compliance

  • Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations, especially concerning explosives and heavy equipment.

  • Conduct daily safety briefings and ensure all workers wear proper PPE.

  • Identify and report unsafe conditions, potential rock fall hazards, or unstable areas.

  • Coordinate with the Safety Officer to ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.

3. Technical Oversight

  • Interpret and implement geotechnical and engineering drawings for excavation and stabilization.

  • Supervise drilling patterns, blasting layouts, and charge placement under the direction of qualified personnel.

  • Monitor and control excavation depths, slopes, and profiles.

  • Ensure the quality of rock support installations such as anchors, bolts, wire mesh, and shotcrete.

4. Coordination and Reporting

  • Coordinate daily work with engineers, surveyors, and other site supervisors.

  • Maintain daily records of labor, equipment, material usage, and progress.

  • Report site issues, delays, or technical problems promptly to the Rock Work Supervisor or Site Engineer.

  • Assist in planning manpower and equipment needs for upcoming work stages.

5. Equipment and Resource Management

  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of drilling and blasting equipment.

  • Monitor consumables (explosives, drill bits, steel, mesh, etc.) and request supplies as needed.

  • Keep tools and machinery in safe, working condition.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php40, Php70,000.00 per month
