QUALIFICATION:

  • Graduate of any four-year course associate in Nursing.
  • At least six (6) months work experienced.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  1. Attends to the needs of the department, and supervises the general activities of the Central Service in the absence of the Head.

  2. Makes requisition of medical supplies when necessary.

  3. Receives and records deliveries and enter them in the stock card.

  4. Oversees control and maintenance of stocks.

  5. Ensures that established policies & procedures are being followed.

  6. Checks for the accuracy in the work of subordinate staff.

  7. Checks stability condition of medical supplies.

  8. Provides monthly stock inventory, purchases & transfer out report.

  9. Monitors the stock level & maintains monthly inventory.

  10. Monitors the right quality of supplies.

  11. Forwards condemned items to Accounting Dept. for possible replacement.

  12. Checks inventory of supplies and stocks every other month.

  13. Checks & receives deliveries of different supplies.

  14. Maintains record of received items;

  15. Ensures that the personnel have been trained properly in the policies & procedures both the in-patient and ambulatory patients;

  16. Performed monthly checking of the cylinder tanks (medical oxygen tanks) for inventory purposes and reports.

  17. Do the office materials requisition.

  18. Receives all deliveries office supplies input all the deliveries to the system.

  19. Monitor the stock level of office supplies and maintains monthly inventory.

  20. Release of office supplies in all departments every Friday between 1pm – 5pm.

  21. Dispensing of requested items.

  22. Charging of all requested items.

  23. Makes production supplies (os gauze 4x4, specimen cup, gloves) and packs them for sterilization.

  24. Attends to patient's complaint regarding CS charging

  25. Receives telephone calls politely on clearance charges, etc.

  26. Forwards charges to billing sections before cut - off time.

  27. Checks basic supplies and stock ready for use on demand.

  28. Maintains and keep of the unit, orderly, clean and safe environment.

  29. Dispense the 24hrs. Requisition of in-patients.

  30. Carries out specified and delegated functions from the unit head and makes proper endorsement every start and end of the shift.

  31. Receives and issues medical supplies to authorized personnel and other necessary supplies needed by the patient.

  32. Do emergency purchase outside if the item is not regular stock needed by the inpatient and as per requested by attending physician.

  33. Dispenses medical supplies properly

  34. Enter daily charges into the stock card.

  35. Checks the stock card for corrections against Comlogic.

  36. Charges all medical supplies taken by the staff nurse for patients.

  37. Rendering of outpatient request and walk-in patient.

  38. Releasing and recording of pulse oximeter, infusion pumps and syringe pumps for patient use.

  39. Receives and release medical oxygen for hospital patient's use.

  40. Receives oxygen deliveries daily.

  41. Performs other duties as the need arises.
