The Accounts Payable Associate initiates processing of accounts payable in compliance with accounting practices and company policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Initiates processing of payables, ensuring that invoices are checked, prices are correct, and that any discrepancies are investigated and dealt with appropriately.

·       Ensures that invoices are authorized for payment by the Group Head and matched to Purchase Orders where applicable.

·       Ensures recording of expenses and liabilities using appropriate account codes and that payments are posted on the system appropriately.

·       Facilitates timely submission of approved payables to Treasury for check disbursements.

·       Assist with account reconciliations as well as identifying and correcting accounting errors

·       Deals with all inquiries related to invoices/payments, answering telephone calls and emails, and liaising with relevant departments as necessary to ensure inquiries are dealt with in a professional and timely manner.

·       Perform administrative duties such as photocopying, printing, and filing.

·       Prepares accrual of expenses, and assists in monthly/yearly closing of books.

Others:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field preferred

At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable processing, preferably gained from a power company

Trainings:

·       Seminar on BIR Tax Updates related to VAT, and Withholding Tax

·       Effective Business Writing

·       Accounts Payable Management

Certified Public Accountant - Preferred

Skills and Essential Traits:

  • Good IT skills and knowledge of using Excel and accounting software
  • Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail
  • Good analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced, and under-pressure environment
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
