PURCHASING SUPERVISOR
Job Summary:
The Purchasing Supervisor oversees the day-to-day purchasing operations, ensuring the timely and cost-efficient procurement of materials, supplies, parts, equipment, and services required by the company. This role manages supplier coordination, price negotiation, purchase order processing, and adherence to procurement policies. The position also supervises purchasing staff and supports both local and international sourcing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily purchasing activities to ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase orders.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with local and international suppliers to secure the best pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Review purchase orders, quotations, and supplier contracts before endorsement to the Purchasing Manager or Management.
- Coordinate with Warehouse, Sales, Service, Logistics, and Accounting to ensure correct specifications, stock availability, and procurement priorities.
- Monitor supplier performance and delivery accuracy; report issues on delays, discrepancies, or product quality.
- Assist in handling importation and international purchases, including coordination with shipping lines, customs brokers, and logistics partners.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, budget requirements, and internal controls.
- Maintain updated vendor records, price lists, and supplier databases.
- Support inventory planning by monitoring stock levels and initiating replenishment as needed.
- Analyze market trends, cost changes, and price movements to support purchasing decisions.
- Prepare procurement reports such as PO summary, price comparison, and supplier evaluations.
- Guide, train, and supervise Purchasing Assistants and staff.
- Perform other procurement-related tasks as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years relevant experience in purchasing or procurement; supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience in automotive, trucking, heavy equipment, or industrial distribution is an advantage.
- Knowledgeable in supplier negotiation, importation process, and procurement procedures.
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and purchasing/ERP systems.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple transactions.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: Php35, Php45,000.00 per month
