Senior US Bookkeeper

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced
Bookkeeper
with
3+ years of U.S.-based bookkeeping experience
to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual who thrives in a remote environment, is highly skilled with
QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
, and has experience interacting professionally with internal teams and external clients.

The Senior US Bookkeeper will need to do the end-to-end or full cycle of bookkeeping from recording daily financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, processing payroll, and generating financial reports for businesses.

This senior resource needs to do financial analysis and reporting before and after closing the book for the month, quarter, or year. S/he needs to possess working knowledge of US tax, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, payroll tax, and tax laws, and collaborating with accountants and management to provide financial data for decision-making. S/he will be mentoring and giving insights, analysis, and feedback to the tax reviewers, and validating and reviewing the accounting work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for U.S.-based clients
  • Use
    QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online (QBO)
    to maintain accurate financial records
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial data
  • Prepare financial reports, including P&L statements and balance sheets
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal team members and external clients
  • Assist in
    payroll processing
    and ensure compliance with relevant tax and labor regulations
  • Help
    train and onboard new bookkeeping staff
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity of all financial data

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of
    3 years U.S. bookkeeping experience
    (REQUIRED)
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite
  • Proficient in
    QuickBooks Desktop
    and
    QuickBooks Online (QBO)
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and payroll regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Comfortable interacting with both internal staff and outside customers
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organized
  • Experience in training and mentoring new staff is a plus

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with U.S. payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Gusto, Paychex)
  • Familiarity with cloud-based accounting workflows and tools (e.g., , Hubdoc, Expensify)
  • An accounting degree is a plus, but not required
