Role Overview:

The Rooms Controller plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless coordination of room assignments, optimizing occupancy, and enhancing guest satisfaction. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong communication skills and a passion for luxury hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily room inventory and coordinate room assignments based on guest preferences, VIP status, and operational needs.
  • Collaborate with Front Office, Housekeeping, Reservations, and Sales teams to ensure smooth arrivals and departures.
  • Monitor and adjust room blocks for groups and special events to maximize revenue and guest satisfaction.
  • Handle last-minute changes, upgrades, and special requests with professionalism and discretion.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to room status and occupancy.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years solid experience in a Rooms Controller or Front Office role within a hotel setting.
  • Proficiency in property management systems (e.g., Opera or similar).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
