Job Brief

Our client, a key player in the energy and power sector specifically thermal power, is on an ambitious growth trajectory and is seeking a Corporate Planning & Strategy Head to anchor its strategic direction. This senior leadership role will be instrumental in shaping the company's future and identifying opportunities across the evolving energy landscape.

This role will lead the development of long-term corporate strategy, provide critical business intelligence, and drive strategic insights across all business units. With a deep understanding of the renewable energy value chain, the ideal candidate will collaborate closely with C-level leaders to guide investments, support market expansion, and ensure the organization is well-positioned for future opportunities and risks.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the companys long-term strategic planning, translating the renewable energy vision into actionable growth roadmaps, investment priorities, and technology diversification strategies.
  • Drive the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and 5 to 10 year business forecasts, anchored on a deep understanding of the power sectors evolution and energy transition pathways.
  • Leverage prior experience in corporate planning within a coal or traditional power generation company to guide the shift from legacy assets to a sustainable, low-carbon portfolio.
  • Deliver sharp market intelligence by tracking global trends, regulatory shifts, competitor strategies, and decarbonization policies to inform high-stakes decisions.
  • Support strategic growth initiatives, including M&A, market entry, and joint ventures, through robust scenario modeling, valuations, and opportunity assessments.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Business Development, and Operations teams to align strategic priorities with performance metrics, risk management, and operational insights.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the C-suite, representing the function in Board meetings, investor discussions, and policy roundtables.
Requirements
  • 15 years in strategy, corporate planning, or business consulting.
  • Experience within the power sector for both fossil fueled and renewable energy is highly preferred.
  • Track record of shaping and executing corporate strategies that have driven growth, transformation, and long-term value.
  • MBA or advanced degree in Strategy, Finance, or Energy Economics.
  • Strong financial modeling, scenario planning, and business intelligence
