JOB SUMMARY:

Google Tag Manager (GTM) Administrator is responsible for managing the implementation and maintenance of GTM, collaborating with marketing and development teams, troubleshooting tag issues, and ensuring data accuracy for analytics and marketing platforms.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Key duties include implementing and managing tags, maintaining documentation, advising on best practices, and ensuring data quality to support data-driven decisions for digital properties.
  • Develop, implement, and manage various tags (e.g., for Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Ads) to track user behavior and marketing campaign performance on websites and apps.
  • Work with marketing teams, web developers, and external agencies to ensure proper tag setup and data collection
  • Monitor tag implementation, identify and resolve discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy of collected data.
  • Create and maintain documentation for tagging processes and best practices to ensure consistency and scalability.
  • Advise stakeholders on tag implementation best practices, including e-commerce tracking and event tracking for Google Analytics.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the digital measurement infrastructure for websites and applications.
  • Keep up-to-date with external trends in web/app measurement and ad tracking that may impact data collection.
  • Deep understanding of GTM interface, features, and capabilities for deploying and managing tags.
  • Google Analytics (GA4): Strong knowledge of GA4 and other Google marketing products to ensure accurate tracking and analysis.
  • Familiarity with various digital marketing channels and how to use GTM to track their performance.
  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to understand and work with website code snippets, as GTM requires adding two code snippets to every page
  • Ability to analyze data from GTM and other tools to provide insights and drive data-driven decisions

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience:
    Minimum 2-3 years of direct, hands-on experience managing Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics (Universal Analytics and GA4).
  • GTM Mastery:
    Expert-level knowledge of GTM, including Data Layer structure, custom JavaScript variables, and complex trigger configurations.
  • Analytical Skills:
    Proven ability to translate raw data into clear, written and visual insights that drive business decisions.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript as they relate to tag deployment and website functionality.
  • Attention to Detail:
    Meticulous approach to quality assurance and debugging across multiple browsers and devices.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with a major CMS (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, AEM).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Google Looker Studio).
  • Knowledge of other marketing platforms (e.g., Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag).
