Accounting Manager - Operations & Financial Oversight Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with established systems, and provide strategic support to our finance team. This role goes beyond traditional bookkeeping to focus on operational excellence, process management, and team leadership within our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations Management:

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all financial systems and operational procedures implemented by management
  • Oversee income and expense tracking processes across all departments
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial reporting workflows
  • Review and analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Provide direct support and guidance to finance team members (including staff like Dianne)
  • Assist team members in managing workload priorities and time management
  • Train staff on proper reporting procedures and financial workflows
  • Delegate tasks effectively within the financial operations scope

Process Improvement & Reporting:

  • Create standardized, accurate reporting templates and procedures
  • Establish efficient workflows for routine financial operations
  • Ensure timely completion of all financial reports and documentation
  • Implement quality control measures for all financial processes

Management Liaison:

  • Report directly to senior management
  • Provide regular updates on team performance and operational compliance
  • Communicate financial insights and recommendations to leadership
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting with emphasis on operations management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in team supervision and workflow management
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in process improvement and system implementation
  • Background in training and developing junior staff
  • Knowledge of internal controls and compliance procedures
  • Project management experience
