Finance Associate

Job Purpose:

The Finance Associate plays a key role in managing and executing the company's financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and effective financial management in alignment with corporate goals. Job Summary:

The Finance Associate is responsible for handling key financial operations, including accounting processes, financial analysis, and compliance tasks. Key Result Areas and Functions:

I. Financial Reporting:

1. Compile financial data to produce monthly statements.

2. Analyze expense variances from budget each month.

3. Reconcile discrepancies between projected and actual financial performance quarterly.

4. Record financial transactions in compliance with accounting principles.

5. Update financial data in databases to ensure that information is accurate and readily available when needed.

II. Account Management:

1. Process payments and invoices accurately and within expected time limits.

2. Verify details of transactions such as funds received and total account balances.

3. Prepare detailed journals, posting them to various accounts.

4. Research and resolve billing and invoice discrepancies.

5. Track receivables and coordinate collection processes.

III. Treasury Functions:

1. Monitor daily cash balances and execute necessary treasury transfers.

2. Perform monthly bank reconciliations to match company records with bank statements.

3. Assist in managing liquidity by tracking both cash flow forecasts and actual cash flows.

4. Conduct periodic reviews of cash handling and usage policies.

5. Implement measures to optimize treasury processes and improve financial efficiency.

IV. Compliance and Audit Support:

1. Compile information for internal and external auditors during the annual audit.

2. Review financial operations and transactions to confirm compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.

3. Document internal financial procedures to ensure transparency and consistency.

4. Assist in the development of new compliance programs in response to changes in financial regulations.

5. Monitor and apply updates related to financial legislation and standards.

V. Financial Analysis:

1. Conduct routine analysis of financial performance to support strategic decision-making.

2. Evaluate financial trends to forecast future financial positioning.

3. Interpret data concerning investment opportunities and risks, providing recommendations.

4. Calculate financial ratios and metrics to assess organizational performance.

5. Develop reports summarizing current financial status across business units.

Qualifications:

A. Education and Training:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

2. Preferred: CPA certification.

B. Knowledge and Experience:

1. Proficient in financial and accounting software applications.

2. Open to fresh graduates; up to two years of relevant experience preferred.

C. Competencies:
