POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Head of Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions of the organization to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources. This role involves strategic planning, process improvement, team leadership, and cross-department collaboration to support overall business goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's long-term goals.
- Work with executive leadership to identify opportunities for growth, efficiency, and process improvement.
- Lead the planning and execution of operational initiatives.
Operational Oversight
- Manage the company's core operations, including supply chain, logistics, customer service, procurement, facilities, and production (as applicable).
- Ensure operational excellence by standardizing workflows and establishing KPIs.
- Monitor and evaluate performance metrics to drive improvements.
- Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
- Ensure proper staffing and workforce planning based on operational needs.
Budget & Resource Management
- Develop and manage operational budgets.
- Ensure efficient use of resources, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure operations comply with legal, regulatory, and quality standards.
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Lead efforts in crisis or incident management when needed.
Technology & Systems
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to improve systems, tools, and software used in operations.
- Lead or support digital transformation and automation initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Proven experience (typically 8–15 years) in operations management, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of compliance and quality standards.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools.
