Key Responsibilities of a Logistics Head:

Supply Chain Management:

Overseeing the entire supply chain from procurement to delivery, including inbound and outbound logistics.

Logistics Planning:

Developing and implementing logistics strategies and plans, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.

Warehousing and Inventory Management:

Managing warehouse operations, inventory levels, and storage space to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.

Transportation Management:

Overseeing transportation operations, including carrier selection, route optimization, and freight forwarding.

Cost Optimization:

Identifying and implementing cost-saving measures throughout the logistics process.

Vendor Management:

Negotiating and managing contracts with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), carriers, and other vendors.

Performance Monitoring and Analysis:

Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics operations and identifying areas for improvement.

Team Leadership and Development:

Supervising and developing a team of logistics professionals.

Compliance and Regulations:

Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Problem Solving and Crisis Management:

Addressing logistics-related issues, resolving conflicts, and managing disruptions to the supply chain.

Budgeting and Financial Management:

Developing and managing the logistics budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.

Manage and supervise the daily operations of the motor pool, including vehicle maintenance, repairs, and servicing schedules.

  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure vehicles are in optimal working condition, minimizing downtime.

  • Oversee the procurement of parts, materials, and equipment necessary for vehicle maintenance and repairs.

  • Establish and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safe operation of vehicles.

  • Monitor and analyze motor pool operations to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

  • Lead a team of mechanics and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, inspections, and inventory.
