DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Legal Research: Conduct research on laws, regulations, and case law relevant to the organization's legal matters to support the legal advice provided by counsel.
- Document Preparation: Assist in drafting and revising contracts, agreements, and legal documents throughout the contract lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Contract Administration: Maintain and manage contract files, tracking key dates for renewals, deadlines, and compliance obligations, ensuring all documentation is up to date.
- Stakeholder Communication: Prepare communication materials and summaries to facilitate discussions with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity in legal insights and recommendations.
- General Legal Support: Assist in the preparation of legal documents for various general matters, including memos, briefs, and other necessary paperwork, to support ongoing legal activities.
- Policy Document Drafting: Collaborate in the drafting and formatting of industry policy papers and exposure documents, ensuring they meet organizational and compliance standards.
- Meeting Coordination: Schedule and organize meetings with stakeholders, maintaining agendas and taking minutes to document discussions and action items.
- Case Management: Track and manage case files, organizing evidence and documentation to support ongoing litigation or legal matters.
- Compliance Monitoring: Assist in monitoring compliance with laws and regulations, preparing reports for legal counsel to review.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, including managing schedules, filing documents, and maintaining legal databases and resources.
COMPETENCIES:
- Legal Research Proficiency: Ability to conduct thorough and accurate legal research using various databases and resources, ensuring reliable support for legal counsel.
- Document Drafting Skills: Expertise in drafting and revising contracts and legal documents, with a strong focus on detail and compliance with legal standards.
- Contract Management: Skillful in organizing and maintaining contract files, tracking renewals, and ensuring compliance with obligations and deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities to effectively prepare materials and summaries for stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational capabilities to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and case files while maintaining high accuracy standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of a paralegal certification program from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience as a paralegal or in a legal support role (typically 1-3 years).
- Familiarity with specific legal areas relevant to the organization (e.g., corporate law, family law, litigation).
- Understanding of legal terminology, principles, and procedures.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws relevant to the organization's focus.
